Shrewsbury, Massachusetts is a town of contrasts. It remains a quaint town, right out of a Rockwell painting, with the obligatory church steeple in a town common lined with magnificent federal colonial homes that date from the 1700′s. It is a place where families have lived for generations, where every holiday is an excuse for a parade or celebration, and where I can’t walk through the grocery store without bumping into countless people I know. Then again, I’ve been involved in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts Real Estate for over 25 years, so I do know a lot of people. Shrewsbury is a town blessed with incredible natural beauty; trees, lakes, parks and recreation areas, including Lake Quinsigamond, also known as “Long Pond”, with it’s beaches, boating and sailing centers.
It is a vibrant, elegant, and state-of-the-art Boston suburb of 35,000 people, with every convenience one could possibly ask for. Fine dining and shopping experiences are within minutes of the town center, and whether your taste leans towards sushi bars or fun coffeehouses, Shrewsbury has it all. High-speed internet is at your door, courtesy of the towns own electric and cable company – SELCO – which provides a host of amazing services. These are just some of the many reasons that my Shrewsbury, Massachusetts real estate clients over the years have been incredibly impressed with the level of services that the town provides.
One of the greatest reasons people choose to call Shrewsbury their home, is the fantastic reputation of its’ school system. There are five main elementary schools, Paton, Coolidge, Spring and Floral, which handle grades 1-4, and the Beal Early Childhood Center, which takes in most of the kindergarten students. From there, students will graduate to the brand new $40+ million Sherwood Middle School for grades 5 and 6, and then on to the renovated Oak Middle School for grades 7 and 8. These students will be exposed to some of the finest teachers in the state and an incredible investment in technology, including a 1:1 iPad model being rolled out into the different grades starting with grades 4 and 5. The Shrewsbury High School Campus looks just like some small colleges, with an amazing sports facility to go along with the wonderful library and science laboratory facility. With a flexible, yet rigorous curriculum Shrewsbury High School routinely graduates students who head off to attend some of the finest schools in the nation, from Harvard and Dartmouth to MIT and Columbia.
In the Northeast, the value of a town often comes down to the simple issue of how easily one can commute to Boston. From Shrewsbury, that commute is easier than from most other communities in the Route 495 belt. For those who choose to drive in, it’s a straight shot on Route 9 and the Massachusetts Turnpike, and as you’ll find after just a few days watching the traffic reports on the news, the commute from the west where Shrewsbury is located is almost always easier and faster than heading into the city from the north or south. If you don’t want to drive, have no fear. The MBTA train station is just around the corner, and you can hop on a WiFi enabled commuter rail, which will take you right into Boston and safely back home again. The ability to make that easy drive to Boston, or just as easily work at any of the large corporations in Worcester or along the 495 belt, makes Shrewsbury one of the most appealing towns in Massachusetts. This is one of the reasons that the resale value in Shrewsbury has always remained high.

Steve Levine – Top Shrewsbury MA Realtor
When you’re thinking of buying or selling Shrewsbury Real Estate, or relocating in or out of the Shrewsbury, Massachusetts area, you’ll be faced with more choices than you might imagine. While trying to narrow down your choices, selecting from among the many great Shrewsbury neighborhoods, or even deciding which of the four Shrewsbury Elementary School districts you want to move to, you will often be faced with an overload of information and opinions. Who should you believe? It seems as though each person has a totally different opinion and is more than willing to share it with you, whether you want it or not! At times like this, when facing what will be one of the largest financial decisions of your life, the place to turn is to a professional. One who is able to leverage their experience in the marketplace to provide a truly non-biased overview and advise you on every nuance that you should take into consideration.
I have been the Top Realtor in Shrewsbury since 1992, and not only do I sell homes in Shrewsbury, but I live here myself. This is where I have raised my family, sending them all the Shrewsbury schools and ultimately running for office and serving on the Shrewsbury School Committee. Since beginning my real estate career nearly 30 years ago, I have had the privilege of working with literally thousands of Buyers and Sellers. Whether a million dollar home in one of Shrewsbury’s elegant subdivisions, a studio condo at Shrewsbury commons, a 200 year old antique in Shrewsbury center, or any of the myriads of properties in between, I have always focused on a handful of core principles – creativity, honesty, respect, integrity, responsiveness, and attention to detail. Operating on those core principles has taken me through the good markets and bad, with the most amazing clients one could ever ask for. I now look back on a career with pride in what I have done and excitement at what is to come.
It always seems a bit odd listing ones own accomplishments in a forum such as this. After all, it isn’t about me, it’s about you. I’m happy to do it, just so you have an idea who you are dealing with…but I’ll keep it ever so brief, as blowing my own horn isn’t really where I choose to spend my time.
Before moving to central Massachusetts back in 1984, I grew up in New Jersey, where I completed my undergraduate studies with a dual major in Microbiology and Psychology and then obtained a graduate degree in Molecular Biology. I came to Boston after graduate school to do Oncology research at one of Boston’s most prestigious institutions. After a year of watching people die around me, I heard an ad on the radio for a real estate class and have never looked back.
I’m not one to talk about awards because, honestly, I think most real estate awards are silly. Yes, I have won them all, including some that they came up with because a few professionals like me, far exceeded the levels of achievement they thought represented the “top” of the industry. I have been named the #1 RE/MAX Agent in New England many times, as well as one of the Top 100 agents in the world. I’ve been featured in Boston Magazine, the New York Times, and every local paper.
I was one of the early members inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and was recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award and Circle of Legends. With each came a lovely trophy, but between you and I, they all wound up in the trash. After all, I’m not a race car driver and I don’t need a trophy room.
The awards I kept were not based on real estate at all, but on helping others. I have devoted the better part of my adult life to reaching out to and helping those in need by co-founding a charity for children and sitting on the Board of Directors of two others. I’ve collected and donated nearly 50 tons of food and worked in the trenches with those who struggle each day. Those awards I have kept and will always treasure as a reminder of what it’s really all about. My goal in life is to not have a single person at my funeral talking about how many houses I have sold but, rather, how many people I have helped.
Wanting to share what I know with others in the real estate industry, I have taught many courses on creative real estate marketing, relocation, social media and customer service – both at the local and national level.
When I first started in the industry, in the mid-1980s, I developed my “Mission Statement” which would guide me through the years. Every so often, I update it to include even more aspirations, yet it’s core remains unchanged and it is just as valid today, so I have shared it with you below.
Whether you need information on the Shrewsbury Real Estate market, or homes and condominiums anywhere in the surrounding area, I am at your service and consider it a privilege to put my years of experience to work for you.
Shrewsbury Massachusetts Real Estate
Shrewsbury, Massachusetts is a great place to live, but the good news is that you don’t have to take my word for it. This year, Shrewsbury was ranked by Money Magazine as the 15th best town of its’ size in America. The real estate market is always buzzing with new opportunities of all sorts of homes ranging from a home of luxury, to a nice single-family house, to a town house and yet inventory remains at very low levels. In markets like this, having the experience of a top Shrewsbury agent is key, because I often know about great homes coming on the market way in advance. In the end, I simply have more experience than any agent you’re going to find here in Shrewsbury and that’s why I know that I will be able find the perfect home for you.
I’m listing below a glimpse of some of the homes currently listed in the MLS database, but there may be even more that you’re not yet aware of, so please send me an email and we can discuss all of the options available to you and your family.

Steve Levine Mission Statement
I will provide the best service possible for every client I represent.
To be the best Realtor I can be, I am willing to give up a large portion of my personal life to ensure the highest level of service, integrity, and knowledge possible. To do this, I have committed to being reachable to all of my clients 24 hours a day – 365 Days a year within 10 minutes or less. This I do not because of my clients expectations, but because of my commitment to their service. I have been selling Shrewsbury Massachusetts real estate since 1992, by providing this level of service at every opportunity.
I will never tell a client what they want to hear if it is not reality. I will never enter into a client relationship where I know what is expected of me can not be done in good faith. I acknowledge that I may periodically lose business because I am truthful with my clients and sometimes my competitors will tell them what they want to hear to temporarily to get their business. In the long run, I know that my honesty will prevail.
I will always remember that to have a winning relationship for my clients, we must always have a mutual goal. I am neither slave – nor master, but a fellow member of a winning team. While I will bend over backwards day or night to help you meet your goals, I will not enter into a relationship with people who treat me with disrespect. I have worked too hard for too many years.
I will never lose sight of the fact that my honesty, loyalty, understanding, work ethic and creativity are what make me so very different from the real estate masses. I will always promote the best interest of my clients, and I will always disclose to my clients all facts that might affect or influence their decision. Many times, a client and I may disagree, but they will never be left wondering about any hidden agenda. Anything I have to say about a property is out in the open at all times. In the end, all decisions are the Clients to make, not mine, and I will always respect their decision.
I will freely give of my time and money to help my Shrewsbury Massachusetts community and charities. I will never lose sight of how many people in the world are less fortunate than myself. I will also attempt to educate my fellow agents, and to raise the standard by which Realtors are measured in the public eye.
I will never forget that I can easily go from being the Top Agent in New England to being a Nobody, by losing sight of the fact that I owe to my clients everything that I am or might ever hope to be. They have placed me where I am today, at the pinnacle of my profession, and they can just as easily take it all away.
I respect your time, and value your business. I know you could go anywhere for your real estate needs, and appreciate having the opportunity to serve you the best way I can. My family completely owes its well being to your continued business, and my entire family is grateful for all you have made possible.
